How often you have your floors professionally cleaned depends on your lifestyle. If you have kids or pets and have a lot of traffic, you may want to do it every three to six months. Otherwise, you may choose to do it just once a year.

We will clean around small pieces of furniture and within a foot or two underneath area rugs. You are more than welcome to move furniture out if you would like.

Most jobs are completed in 2-4 hours.

The price to deep clean and spray buff your floors is 70 cents per square foot. The price to paste wax starts at 80 cents. If your floor needs any stain or cosmetic touch-ups, those services are additional.

I do not recommend steam mops for any type of wood floor. Steam mops blast hot water at a high pressure to remove dirt and kill germs. However, even with sealed hardwood floors, there are openings in the joint and can seep through them and damage your floors. This can even void the manufacturer's warranty.

Fortunately, it’s actually pretty easy to keep your hardwood floors clean and looking great. Wood floors can be swept or dust-mopped daily, vacuumed weekly (as long as there is not a beater bar as this could damage your floors) and damp mopped with a cleaner meant for hardwood every month. We recommend a product like Basic Coatings Squeaky Cleaner, Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner (NOT THE POLISH!) or any good water-based hardwood floor cleaner can be used. (Never use any product that says "Shine" or "Glow" on your wood floors.) Stick to a light misting of your cleaning solution on your hardwood floors. Avoid DIY floor cleaners made with vinegar, lemon juice, tea or other acidic substances, as these can break down your floor’s finish over time. Simply mist a small section of your hardwood floor with the cleaner in a spray bottle, then mop it up before moving to the next section. A microfiber mop is the best tool for removing dust, dirt, allergens and other debris from the surface of your floor.

If you're finding that it is harder than ever to clean your wood floors because it still feels "sticky" and looks dull after you have cleaned them, then you are dealing with some form of residue build up. Many wood floor cleaning products offer to shine and protect your floor, but they only look good for a short time and your floors start to look dingy again. Always be careful of store bought polishes that say "glow or shine". You may have to call someone to remove that "glow". With use of my pads, buffer and wood floor products, I will buff or polish your wood floor. This process will help get the dirt out of your floor finish and then shine and polish that finish. The result will be a much cleaner and shinier hardwood floor. It will also make your regular cleanings easier again.

If a store-bought acrylic polish (such as Bona Polish, Bona Rejuvenate, Mop 'N Glo, Murphy's Oil Soap, Quick Shine or Orange Glo) has been used on your floor, what Paul does will not remove those products. If you need that polish removed, the floors will require stripping or refinishing and that is not something he does. He can certainly clean the surface of those floors, but cleaning or polishing does not remove the acrylic polish.
